Color
Color is one of the most familiar art elements known to artists and non-artists alike. In the art world, it is more detailed than one thinks!
Color is organized into categories:
- Primary(red/blue/yellow)
- Secondary-colors made up of 2 primaries (purple/orange/green)
- Tertiary-colors made up of a primary and a secondary (ie…red-orange/yellow-green/etc)
Artists also use colors to convey feelings and mood in their works. If they want to express happiness or energy they will likely use 'warm colors' (reds/oranges/yellows).
If they are trying to convey calm or possibly sadness in their work they would use 'cool colors' (blues/greens/purples). Color is an important art element!
