Wilder Art Docent
The Wilder PTSA Art Docent program brings interesting and exciting art education and experiences into the classroom each month. We are always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to have art fun in our classrooms!
You do not have to be an artist or have any art background to be an Art Docent. Our lessons are already thoroughly planned with detailed instructions and all the supplies you need to lead the lessons are provided.
The Art Docent program is a wonderful opportunity to volunteer directly in the classroom and work with your child and their classmates on fun and engaging art projects.
About The Program
Deep Space Sparkle (DSS) is an art program adopted by the LWSD. Deep Space Sparkle offers art lesson plans and teaching resources that will help you teach art to kids, even if you aren't a great artist. It provides art lessons by grade level with corresponding books and videos.
All clay lessons are thoroughly planned with step-by-step instructions and your art docent leads are on hand to provide you with any support you need.
There is no prior art or clay experience needed to volunteer though new art docents should attend the art docent training at the beginning of the school year or contact the art docent leads if training sessions were missed.
