Wilder's Scholastic Book Fair
The Scholastic Book Fair returns to Wilder December 8-12, in the Library!
Stock up for winter break with best-selling chapter books, graphic novels and picture books for the little ones! Shop from teacher's wish-lists to update classroom libraries, or contribute to "share the fair" which provides books to students who need help buying books! Shop in-person or online, every purchase benefits our school!
- Daily hours: Book sales are open during recesses and lunch all week for students and teachers.
- Extended public hours: Thursday, Dec. 11 the fair will be open 4-7pm for the community and families. Excited to shop the fair yourself? Come on in, we'd love to see you!!
- Online sales: Dec 8-21
e-Wallet: Simplify Shopping
Set up your ewallet by visiting the fair homepage and click "Get Started" under eWallet!
Set up an eWallet to simplify the shopping process. eWallets are pre-loaded on the register and can be set up online. Create an eWallet account and add money to it using a credit card or a Scholastic eGift balance. When your child makes a purchase at the book fair, the amount will be deducted from their eWallet balance...no need to bring cash, count pennies or lose valuable dollars!
At the end of the fair, any unused balance on an eWallet is converted into a Scholastic eGift balance that can be used anytime to shop online with Scholastic, or donate any portion to the "share the fair."
Teachers can set up eWallets too, and you can contribute to their wallets if you want!
12/8 Preview & Wish List Day!
On Monday, 12/8, each class will have an opportunity to preview the book fair and kids will make their own wish lists! Be sure to ask your child which book they are most excited about!
New to the fair? Read this!
If this is your first time for the fair, welcome! Each year, we partner with Scholastic Books to hold a book fair at our school. We transform the library into a book shop filled with tons of books, merchandise and more! Your child can shop the fair during recesses and lunchtime each day throughout the week. You have a chance to shop the fair during evening hours on Thursday, Dec. 11, from 4-7pm.
- When can my child shop the fair? During recess, or lunchtime any day Dec. 8-12. Please note that due to the traffic at the book fair, your child must have funds (either eWallet or cash) to be able to enter the book fair after the preview day.
- How does my child shop the fair? S/he can let the teacher know that they want to shop the fair during a recess and they will be allowed to stop by, browse the selection and buy books!
- How can my child pay? The easiest way for your child to shop is through an eWallet, which is a pre-loaded balance of funds, available to set up after 11/17. Your child can also bring cash, but please avoid bringing lots of change as it's easily lost and really slows down the checkout process. Be a helpful banker and trade in those pennies for dollars if your child raids the piggy bank!
Volunteers Needed!
The success of the book fair is made possible through volunteers. Whether you can cover one recess, or a full day, we'd love to have your help at the Book Fair this year.
