Line
One of the most seemingly simple and yet complex element is: LINE. A line is a line after all, isn't it?
By definition it is: a mark made using a drawing tool or brush. But, there is much more to it in the variety of lines: thick/thin/horizontal/vertical/zigzag/diagonal/curly/curved/spiral to name a few.
